Electric Heating cable

The KLIMA Underfloor Heating Cable has been specially designed for installing in cement floors. The spacing between the cables determines the capacity per m2. This gives you the freedom to apply more capacity (faster reaction time, higher temperatures) or indeed lower capacity (constant or low temperatures) when installing.

Product Description

Product Info
Installation is very simple because the cable can be shaped. It can be secured to the floor insulation using aluminium tape and with dove-tail platesor tie-wraps onto the concrete net. Moreover, handy spacer strips are available for fitting directly onto the floor.

The advanced thermostat takes account of the required warming up period, so that your floor is always at the right temperature whenyou want it. The lack of radiators on the walls provides optimal freedom for interior decoration and placing furniture.

Example calculations for the cable distances

To calculate the correct cable distance, divide the number of open m2of floor area by the total capacity of the set. The outcome should be multiplied by 17 (17 = watt per metre of cable stretched out). The first two numbers after the decimal point indicate the distance (spacing) between the cables in centimetres.

Some examples of additional heating

500 watt cable at 3 m2: (166 W/m2) (3 m2: 500 watt) x 17 W/m1=0.102. Install the cables at 10 cm apart from each other.

1000 watt cable at 7 m2: (142 W/m2) (7 m2: 1000 watt) x 17 W/m1 = 0.119. Install the cables at 11 to 12 cm apart from each other.

Answer:-

Yes, as the system is in a screed, you can change and use almost any flooring over the top. Compatibility with the system is dependant on the flooring, and we would always recommend checking with your flooring supplier before purchase.

How much screed is required over the in screed heating cable?

Answer:-

For an in screed cable, fitted to insulation, a minimum 70mm screed is required. This level can be reduced to 50mm depending on the type of screed used, for example liquid screed may allow for less. For an in screed cable, fitted onto an insulated concrete floor, a minimum of 35mm is required.
